Naturally you can upgrade the card once you have updated your macOS to 10.6.8 or a later macOS version. If you are starting off with a PC and a Snow Leopard retail DVD then you need a graphics card that works out of the box.
I'm not too bothererd if it's from either Nvidia or ATI/AMD, I just need to know what is the easiest card to work with on Snow Leopard. I just need some info straight out of the horse's mouth, if you know what I mean. Does the card I need to use need to be period correct to Snow Leopard, or can I use even slightly newer cards? I need something that works OOB and isn't too expensive used. I know there's plenty of posts already listing some graphics cards, and I've done more research outside of tonymacx86 for possible cards to use but I'm still pretty stuck for choices. I've decided I'm buying used, as I guessed I don't really have a choice for 10.6. I've got everything I need (including a dead B&W G3 I'll be using as the case), however I'm stuck for graphics cards for Snow Leopard.
